In commemoration of the ongoing war in Myanmar, Aria drama & Voice presents “Unforgotten Gold.” In this project, we invite survivors of the generation spanning war to paint their bodies gold. Let gold represent your pain and suffering and let pictures tell your story. Tell the world our struggle is not forgotten, it is painted in gold.
Although Aria is a global academy, its founder, Tennin, is actually a Burmese refugee who came to the US at an early age to escape a generational long genocidal conflict. It is his belief that Aria should never become “generic voice acting school number something, something.” Instead, Tennin hopes that by expressing the struggles of his own people that his trainees can learn something much deeper.
My Father’s War is a new section of Aria dedicated to receiving stories of conflicts spanning several generations. Although our focus is on Myanmar right now, we hope to expand into other global conflicts as time passes.
Aria’s belief is that trainees should never forget that their voices aren’t just for entertainment. It can carry the lives of others. We might be a virtual academy, but we are real people and Aria will move forward with you.
May heaven watch in awe as you perform these stories and letters that will finally have a witness and a voice.
